Now from all their different categories, the 80's section really stuck out to me. I was born in 1986 so I remember growing up with all these TV shows featured. I received a digital copy of Here, Home, Hope from One 2 One Network. Here, Home, Hope is a book about a mother who has become restless with her life. Everything is becoming a routine and nothing new is exciting. I can relate to this. I bet many of us could really relate. I know that my life has settled into the "Mommy Routine". The same thing happens every day. Take care of the kids, the house, the pets. Cook dinner, baths, bedtime. Same ol' same ol'. Kelly, the main character, decides to "spice up" her life in this book. I have been doing stuff to try to get out of the same old routine. Like going to Dollywood, yard saling, and just getting out of the house! What ways have you been getting out of your routines?

I must say that the fabric these tshirts are made of are really comfortable. I ordered a XL and it fits me really good. I love tshirts that fit good. The graphics look really good on the fabric. Fun in the Sun: Grilling

One of my favorite things to do during the summer is grilling! I just love the smell of a smoking grill on a hot summer day. Mouth drooling!! I am so excited because I have been smelling more and more cooking grills!

But, what is the right way to grill? Usually I just slap some meat on the grill, throw some bbq sauce on it and grill! But did you know that there are actual tips for grilling?! Well, guess what?! I'm going to tell you some to get your GRILL ON!

 

• Marinating is a very important aspect of grilling. Marinating tenderizes meat and adds flavor! Use roughly 1 to 2 coups of marinade for every 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of meat. I even marinate other things, such as veggies.


• Make sure there is enough charcoal to extend in a single layer 1 to 2 inches beyond the area of the food on the grill. Douse the charcoal with a small amount of fluid. If you do not have fluid, try using regular salad oil. Wad a sheet of newspaper and pile the coals over it and then douse the coals with the salad oil.


• NEVER barbecue indoors because carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are given off which causes toxic fumes! O.O


• Now, I like this tip! When grilling with a BBQ pit closed, open a can of beer and place the beer over the hottest part of the fire. The beer will boil and saturate the air inside the pit with water vapor, beer flavors and alcohol! <<Good tip for a GOOD PARTY. HA HA


• Now, this is one tip that I do not do, but should! I will always flip the meat several times but you should only flip the meat only one time.

Since we are discussing grilling, what are your favorite foods to cook out?

Here is one of my favorite recipes to use when cooking out:

Grilled Chicken Pineapple Sliders

Ingredients

• 1 lemon, juiced


• 1 lime, juiced


• 1 tablespoon cider vinegar


• salt and black pepper to taste


• 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut in half


• 6 pineapple rings


• 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce


• 6 Hawaiian bread rolls - split and toasted


• 6 lettuce leaves - rinsed and dried


• 6 red onion slices

Directions

1. Whisk together the lemon juice, lime juice, cider vinegar, salt and pepper in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add the chicken and toss to evenly coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.


2. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate.


3. Remove the chicken from the marinade, and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade. Grill the chicken for 5 to 7 minutes each side, or until juices run clear when chicken is pierced with a fork. Grill pineapple for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until heated through and grill marks appear.


4. Spread 1 teaspoon teriyaki sauce on the bottom half of a toasted roll; next add a lettuce leaf, a piece of chicken, a pineapple round, and an onion slice. Replace the top and repeat with the remaining rolls.

I became a fan the minute I started to look at these products! Haley and Amberly started to scream and jump when they saw all the books!

I have never seen a financial program set up for young ages starting at 3! I was very impressed! This kit helps teach children the value of earning money. I have set up the dry-erase boards on my fridge and I am going to keep track of savings for them. I love teaching my girls the meaning of saving money since I am so frugal already! I got two little frugal spenders & savers on my hands!

Fun in the Sun Series

Big news! I am planning a trip to the beach next month! So, I decided to start a little series called Fun in the Sun. There are so many things that I have to do in order to get ready for this trip. Where to go, where to stay, what to drive and what to do?! So many options to choose from. I will be going to Florida. I am not sure on the location or where I am going to stay as of just yet. I do know that a jet ski rental is going to happen! I know, how excited are you to hear that? Lol!
Ok, to start off this series I am going to tell you some tips to stay safe in the sun.

 

• Select the perfect sunscreen. Pick the sunscreen with a high SPF. SPF is telling you how long it will protect you from the sun. For instance, SPF 30 will protect you for 300 minutes.


• Apply the sunscreen generously.


• Start ahead of time. If you are going out in the sun, put sunscreen on 20 minutes ahead of time.


• Use more than you think you need. Often, people do not use enough sunscreen.


• Stay hydrated. The last thing anybody would want while on a trip or just being out in the sun is to get dehydrated. No fun at all! Keep water with you!

Book Review: Divine Appointments

I received Divine Appointments by Charlene Ann Baumbich from Blogging For Books a few months ago. I have read a little bit of this book everyday. I just finished it and I must say Wow! It was a touching book.

About Divine Appointments:

My first thoughts was "Was I really going to like this book?" It seemed aimed for an "older" audience but boy was I wrong. The more I readed into this book the more I connected with Josie. It was a heart touching story and kept me guessing what was going to happen. I recommend reading this book.
