BeadforLife creates sustainable opportunities for impoverish women to lift themselves out of poverty by creating a circle of connection between women in Uganda and women around the world. Women in Uganda work hard to roll beautiful bead jewelry out of recycled paper and harvest shea nuts to make shea butter. Women worldwide sell these items and educate themselves and others about extreme poverty. The profits return to Uganda and fund health care, housing and business training intiatives.
Organizations like this always pulls at my heart strings. I was very honored to share the story of BeadforLife. I knew the minute that I read about this, I had to share it with my readers. I love the fact that Ugandan women turn colorful recycled paper into beautiful beads. Women in Northern Uganda gather shea nuts and press them into shea butter for cosmetics and soaps. Poverty is a huge issue in Uganda. I love that a very cute and fun project is being done to help raise money for the people in Uganda.
I was sent one of these wonderful bracelets made by the Ugandan women. It is so pretty! I love the color of my bracelet. It is a pretty blue color. I love how the beads are made. It is not like the plastic beads you find at the store.
